‘Creation from Catastrophe, How architecture can rebuild communities’ was my cultural visit today. An exhibition on the ground floor of the RIBA building, which is a very calming environment with an amazing shop and filled to capacity with inspiring content.
‘Designing for resilience exhibition’ on the upper floor shows proposals from the rebuild following Hurricane Sandy.
Spaces and people, an opportunity to be really creative.
The Curve at the Barbican and an exhibition initiating various emotions and thats what I love about art. The element of surprise.

The big question, what draws you in and what is it about an art piece which makes you stop, think and enjoy?
This piece distracted me from all the other busy Easter weekend jobs that need to be done. It made me smile as my eyes followed the tubes looking for the start and end.
Unfortunately I did not make a note of the name of this piece but recommend a visit to see the work of Jeff Lowe.

I continue to find inspirational moments in the cultural world around me and having two artists Avendon and Warhol side by side did it for me.

Its funny but something made me stop and take a photo of this group of bicycles. They appeared to have personalities but this bicycle with its basket made me sad. Stories to tell I’m sure.

Developing the model which can solve the problem is now on my mind following my trip to The World of Charles and Ray Eames exhibition at the Barbican. Although I could not take a photo in the exhibition there is always a surprise in this location that can be blogged and worth finding.

A James Bond film treat first and an introduction to the Day of the Dead in Mexico. An amazing array of experiences at the British Museum and Family Festival ‘Days of the Dead’ and finally a rather unusual but interesting film moment watching ‘the Book of Life’.
