My Wow moment

Some images just stick with you following an exhibition and this one has with me. I originally planned to go to the BP Portrait Award 2019 but when I arrived I was struck by the Cindy Sherman poster. I took the plunge, got my ticket and went in to see the show. It was well worth the visit as so many of the photographs were impactful and emotional. This was definitely my Friday treat.

I needed a strong coffee after this show so another visit is definitely planned for the Portrait Award exhibition

After a 5 month gap I have decided to reignite and update my cultural updates. I am still a novice with the web world but having an opportunity to record the creative and inspiring opportunities out there it seems only right to spread the word.

Its wonderful how a work of art can provide that ‘feel good factor’.

A visit to the National Portrait Gallery  and Tate Modern was a real treat.

Finding the right image does not need a photograph

As more and more shows restrict photography I have begun to struggle to find an image to represent my recent experiences. But not allowing photography is a positive as more time is spent enjoying rather than taking pictures.

My latest expedition was to the National Portrait Gallery to see the Picasso Portraits exhibition, which is on until 5 February 2017. A sunny day, a trip to Trafalgar Square, a coffee of course and a Picasso moment, provided me with a lasting image for the day.

Feeling low? I recommend a coffee first and a trip to the National Portrait Gallery, nice and early, no crowds, no long queues and an opportunity to stand back and soak in an array of beautiful imagery.

Although a charged exhibition, its money worth spending. There will definitely be a photograph, which will take your breadth away. That’s what I look out for. I am not a long browser contemplating every label.

Art provides an opportunity to inspire, ignite and take you on a variety of journeys.
